The Indy Bioactive Story
Our Story and Mission
Indy Bioactive began as Bloomer Bioactive and evolved through BioMystica.Shop to become a trusted provider of bioactive vivarium supplies starting in early 2021 following a near fatal car accident.
Over the years and through our brands, we have stocked stores such as Uncle Bills, The Reef Aquarium Shop, Fish Happens, and vended at a host of expos throughout the Midwestern United States (Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, and Kentucky).
We have also had job offers from the Indianapolis Zoo!
We have successfully shipped nearly 500 live orders, and served thousands more with our local and show pickups.
As of May 2026, we rebranded to Indy Bioactive with one goal: Get back to the basics.
A simple black and white no-nonsense website that clearly conveys information to our customers that utilized experimental branding components from BioMystica.Shop.
We hope you'll support us in our long standing endeavor in providing high quality, morally sound products and livestock for your bioactive enclosures in Indianapolis and abroad!

About Our Founder
Indy Bioactive (Originally Bloomer Bioactive and later BioMystica.Shop) was founded by Nick Bloomer, a Hoosier Native that has followed in his mother and grandmothers foot steps with his Entrepreneurial spirit.
Nick has always been deeply passionate about his love and curiousity of animals.
While his younger brother was practicing baseball, Nick was found soaking his arm cast with swamp water from a drainage ditch in search of wild fish and amphibians.
As an adult, Nick attended Indiana State University's School of Business & School of Communications, and currently holds an Associate's Degree in IT from Vincennes University.
Nick has volunteered with Organizations such as the North American Discus Association (NADA), and The Wild Fungal Trust, a 501c3 registered non profit dedicated to the preservation and education of mycological specimens.
Our Founder has also participated in National level conferences regarding the discovery of new to science, mycological specimens, and even Psychedelic Science.
Nick also enjoys foraging for mushrooms, and submitting samples for DNA sequencing - You can see the genome of one of our samples in the National Library of Medicine & Biotechnology below! https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/nuccore/2223942602
